Independence Day Weekend Events Scheduled
 in the City of Annapolis

 

Annapolis, MD (June 30, 2021) – The City of Annapolis will play host to a variety of events to celebrate Independence Day weekend in the City. The City is sponsoring two events, the Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 3 (at 10:30 a.m.)and the fireworks display on Sunday night, July 4. For a complete list, visit the City website. Please note that there is no rain date for the parade. Rain date for the Fireworks will be Monday, July 5. Look to the City’s social media channels for updates if the weather turns inclement.

  • Friday, July 2

    • 5 to 8 p.m. at Maryland Hall (800 Chase Street): Family picnic night and float decorations for the parade, arts & crafts, DJ

    • 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Chambers Park (14 Dorsey Avenue), with Greater Parole Community Association: live music at Parole Stage. 

    • 7 to 10 p.m., City Dock: Tango Dancing with Orchestra

  • Saturday, July 3

    • All weekend (various locations): Plein Air Painting

    • 2 to 6 p.m. Upper Main Street: Big Bands - SoulJourners (2 p.m.); Spa Creek Band (3:15 p.m.); Bayside Big Band (4:15 p.m.); Naptown Brass Band (5 p.m. Walking Down Main Street to City Dock)

    • 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. City Dock Stage: Salsa Dancing

  • Sunday, July 4

    • 3 to 6 p.m. Upper Main Street: Dancing in the Street with DJ Landis and Dancing Demonstrations by Local Groups (with Downtown Annapolis Partnership and WRNR)

    • 6:30 p.m. City Dock: MC3 Contemporary Dance (with National Park Service Chesapeake)

    • 8 p.m. City Dock: United States Naval Academy Band leading up to fireworks

    • 11 a.m. NPS - Black History in the Chesapeake Bay: A salute to one of the oldest African American yachting and boating clubs in the United States

    • 4 p.m. at City Dock/Burtis House Docks: Welcome Party/Parade of Tall Ships! Pride of Baltimore, Wilma Lee, and Providence arrive in the Annapolis Harbor. Sea Scouts Honor Guard.

    • 5:30 p.m. Welcome from Alice Estrada (Annapolis Maritime Museum), Wendy O’Sullivan (National Park Service Chesapeake) and Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley.
