1. Who are the vulnerable populations?

• Older adults, aged 65 years and older
• People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility
• People who have serious chronic medical conditions including:
  • Chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
  • Heart disease with complications
  • People who are immune-compromised including cancer treatment
  • People of any age with severe obesity (BMI ≥40) or certain underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, such as those with diabetes, renal failure or liver disease might be at risk
  • People who are pregnant should be monitored since they are known to be at risk with severe viral illness, however, to date data on COVID-19 has not shown increased risk

6. Should I allow my child to have a playdate or visit friends?

• CDC recommends families limit social interactions in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. “Parents should minimize play dates, and if held, parents should keep the groups small. Advise older children to hang out in a small group or meet up outside rather than inside where it is easier to keep and maintain space between others in outdoor settings, like parks.”

7. When are schools going to open?

• The Governor’s Executive Order on school closures did not set a date certain on reopening. Please visit the Anne Arundel County Public Schools webpage for information on e-learning.

8. How do I get childcare?

9. My work is closed. How am I going to pay my bills?

• You can apply for unemployment Online through the Maryland Department of Labor
• You can apply for SNAP or FSP (Food Supplement Program) Online through the Maryland Department of Human Services
• You can apply for Temporary Cash Assistance Online through the Maryland Department of Human Services

10. Where can I go to get health insurance?

• As part of the state’s overall response to the coronavirus, and in an effort to prioritize health and safety, Maryland Health Connection has opened a new special enrollment period for uninsured Marylanders.

11. What travel restrictions are in place?

• There are no domestic travel restrictions at this time (March 23, 2020)
• International travel restrictions are currently Level 4 “Do Not Travel,” advising all U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.

12. Will evictions be taking place?

• Evictions have been halted in the State of Maryland

• Grab and go meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are available at locations around Annapolis and Anne Arundel County for all children ages 2 to 18 through Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). Adults may not pick up food without a child present.
