1. What areas do Annapolis Police Officers patrol?

The Annapolis Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the City of Annapolis. Officers patrol the areas inside the City of Annapolis. Having a postal address of Annapolis is not a guarantee that you live in the City. Please visit the City Street Listing if you are unsure whether you live in the City of Annapolis. Several other law enforcement agencies have the authority to enforce laws inside the City of Annapolis; these include, but are not limited to:
- Maryland State Police
- Anne Arundel County Police Department
- Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office
- Maryland Capitol Police

2. What information can I receive about criminal activity in Annapolis?

The Annapolis Police Department publishes a Daily Police Report every weekday, excluding City holidays. This Daily Report includes serious crimes like robberies, burglaries, and thefts. Media Releases are also sent out to announce major crimes and other events. These items are posted on our Facebook page, Twitter account, and website. You can sign up to receive these reports by email by following this link and filling out the form. 3. Does the Annapolis Police Department inspect Safety Equipment Repair Orders (SERO)?

Yes. If you receive an SERO from a Maryland State Trooper or other law enforcement officer you can have the repair inspected and certified at the Annapolis Police Department located at 199 Taylor Avenue. Inspections are conducted Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. Inspections are not conducted during inclement weather.

A registered inspection mechanic at a Maryland State Police authorized inspection station can also inspect the repair.

4. Does the Annapolis Police Department allow civilians to ride-along with police officers?

5. Does the Annapolis Police Department offer fingerprinting services for employment and other reasons?

6. What does the Annapolis Police Department do with unclaimed property?

7. Is there a fee to get my off-road vehicle after it was towed by the Annapolis Police Department?

Due to the increasing numbers of off-road and recreational vehicles recovered, towed and stored at the Annapolis Police Department, a "Recovery/Tow Fee" will be assessed to the lawful owner of these vehicles. The Annapolis Police Department will assess a flat rate $150 Recovery/Tow Fee for any off-road and/or recreational vehicles transported to the police department. These fees will be assessed at the time that the vehicle is retrieved by the lawful owner(s) and upon documented proof of ownership. Acceptable payment types are cashier's check or money orders made out to the City of Annapolis.
