November 1-22 – Thanksgiving Food Drive – 199 Taylor Av
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 101 calls for service and arrested 3 people.
Attempted Burglary – 201900005599 – 700-799 Americana Dr – 11/12 at 6:50am: An observant caller reported an adult male suspect entered the patio of an apartment. When he was confronted he fled the area.
Theft of Bicycle – 201900005611 – 400-499 Chinquapin Round Rd – 11/12 from 5:05pm to 5:20pm: A black Specialized Tricomp Sequoia road bicycle was stolen when it was briefly left outside a business. The bicycle has a rear rack, black saddle bag and LED headlight.
Armed Robbery – 201900005615 – 100-199 West Washington St – 11/12 at 11:54pm: An adult male food delivery driver was in his vehicle making a delivery in the area when he was approached by a male suspect. The man wore a black mask and pointed a handgun at the driver. Another man wearing a black mask acted as a lookout for the first suspect. The suspects took money and food and fled the area on foot. Officers were able to determine the residence the suspects fled into in the 300 block of Bloomsbury Square. Detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant for the home. The food stolen during the robbery was located inside, as well as a handgun and ammunition. One adult male suspect was arrested and is awaiting charges.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Annapolis Police Department will be accepting donations of food for a Thanksgiving Food Drive from 11/01 to 11/22. We will be providing Thanksgiving meals to local families and donating the remaining food to local food pantries. We need 5# bags of potatoes, 2# bags of onions, jars of gravy, cans of cranberry sauce, cans of sweet potato, cans of green beans, bags or boxes of stuffing, cans of cream of mushroom soup and french fried onions. Other items needed are boxed pastas and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soups and other canned meals, boxed macaroni and cheese, healthy snacks like breakfast bars and dried fruit, and baby food. Please check expiration dates, expired food will not be accepted. You can drop off donations any time at the police department at 199 Taylor Avenue.
No Citizen Fingerprinting
No citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, 12/23, and Monday, 12/30. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 01/06, at 6:30pm. Additionally, no citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, January 20.
