In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 124 calls for service and arrested 8 people.
Theft from Vehicle – 201900004697 – 1900-1999 McGuckian St – 09/22 from 4pm to 6:30pm: The rear passenger window of the vehicle was smashed and a Kate Spade purse and an L&P hiking backpack were stolen. The purse and backpack were discovered a short distance away. Money was stolen from the purse.
Handgun Possession Arrest – 201900004742 – 1100-1199 Frederick Douglass St – 09/24 at 7:30pm: Officers were in the area when they saw a male subject with an open warrant. The subject, Larry Hucks, 25, of Annapolis, fled from officers, but they quickly located him sitting in a parked vehicle. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. At first Hucks provided the officers with a false name, but officers quickly confirmed his identity and he was arrested for the open warrant. A police K-9 positively alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle and officers located a small amount of suspected cocaine and a loaded handgun. The drugs and handgun were in easy reach of where Hucks was sitting in the vehicle. Hucks is currently prohibited from possessing a handgun. Hucks was charged with six criminal charges relating to possession of the illegal drugs, illegal possession of handgun and providing a false name to officers. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
Family Movie Night
The Greater Parole Community Association, Annapolis Police Department and City of Annapolis Arts in Public Places Commission is hosting a free movie night on Tuesday, 10/01, at 7pm on Croll Drive in the Annapolis Gardens community. Watch Hotel Transylvania 3 at Annapolis Gardens.
La Cultura Cura
Tyler Heights Elementary, located at 200 Janwall St, is hosting an event on 10/08 at 6:30pm. This event is open to the public and will be held in English and Spanish. Mario Ozuna-Sanchez will focus on culture and family and present recommendations on how to better connect with your children and strengthen the family. Annapolis Police Department's Latino Liaison, Joe Hudson, will answer questions about services and issues in the community.
