In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 314 calls for service and arrested 15 people.
Burglary – 201900003422 – 1400-1499 Tyler Av – 07/07 at 9am to 07/12 at 7:35am: The resident returned home and discovered an adult male suspect lying on a couch inside. When challenged by the resident he immediately got up and left the home. The home was entered by removing a piece of plexi-glass from a window with a window mounted air conditioning unit. Nothing was stolen from the home.
Burglary – 201900003462 – 1200-1299 Marda La – 07/14 at 8pm: An observant caller reported several juveniles trespassing at an abandoned home in the area. Officers arrived, found the door to the home unlocked and located four juveniles inside. A 12 year old male, 13 year old male, 14 year old female and 15 year old female, all from Annapolis, were arrested and charged with burglary on juvenile citations. They were released to their guardians.
Annapolis Police Foundation Shop with a Cop
The Annapolis Police Foundation has received a Target Public Safety grant for the purchase of Target gift cards for Annapolis police officers to take middle school children on a back to school shopping spree. On Tuesday, 07/16, officers will be paired with a child for a one-on-one shopping experience at the Towne Centre Target store where they will pick out school supplies and uniforms. The newly formed Annapolis Police Foundation encourages additional donations to the school shopping project by sending a donation to the website annapolispolicefoundation.org. Questions about the shopping program can be answered by Annapolis Police Foundation member Brian Finan at 301-332-8961.
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 07/16, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.
Vehicle Theft Prevention
July is National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month. In 2017 alone, 773,139 motor vehicles were stolen nationwide, costing vehicle owners nearly $6 billion. Take action! Here are ways you can help prevent motor vehicle theft: Close and lock all windows and doors when you park, park in well-lit areas, do not leave the area while your vehicle is running, do not leave your keys in your vehicle and always stow away your valuables.
