Units were dispatched to the area of Spa Creek and the Severn River for a report of 3 kayakers in the water. Responding agencies included the Annapolis Fire Department, U.S. Naval Academy Fire Department, Anne Arundel County Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police. Annapolis Harbormaster Patrol Boat 2 was in the area and responded to the location. 2 subjects were found in the water and brought on board Patrol Boat 2 at 3:30 p.m. The Annapolis Harbormaster boat remained on location until Annapolis Fireboat 36 and U.S. Coast Guard arrived. A search ensued for a missing woman. The search was halted around 5:20 p.m due to severe weather and was resumed at 6:10 p.m. The deceased victim was found at approximately 9:30 p.m. The incident is under investigation by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police.
