In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 104 calls for service and arrested 9 people.      
 
Good News-Detectives have continued the investigation into the homicide that occurred on June 7th on Forest Dr near Newtowne Dr. On June 20th detectives arrested James Esau Davis III, age 30 of Baltimore, in relation to this case. Davis has been charged with first degree murder and other related offenses. He is currently being held without bond. This is an active and fluid investigation. On 6/20/19 at approx 11am the suspect threatened the victim with a hammer and took cash from the victim. The victim was not injured. The suspect has not been located.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
