In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 125 calls for service and arrested 6 people.
Returned Missing Juvenile – 201900002144 – 00-99 Bricin St – 05/02 at 4:15pm: Yocelin Ayala, 12, who was last seen by her family on 05/01 at 10:30pm, returned home, safe and unharmed.
Stolen Vehicle – 201900002150 – 2000-2099 West St – 05/02 at 11:33am: A red Chevrolet Sonic, MD reg. 8CE5932, was stolen when it was left unlocked with the key in the ignition for a few minutes. The vehicle has white lettering on the side reading, “Autopart International”.
Burglary – 201900002160 – 500-599 South Cherry Grove Av – 05/03 at 3:53am: Officers responded to the business for an intrusion alarm and discovered the front door forced open. The ATM inside the business was stolen.
Prevent Vehicle Thefts & Thefts from Your Vehicle
There have been five vehicle thefts reported since 04/29. All five vehicles were left unlocked with keys inside. Officers recovered three of the vehicles the same days they were reported stolen. Arrests were made in two of the cases.
You can greatly reduce the chances your vehicle will become a target. Lock your doors.
REMOVE ANY SPARE VEHICLE KEYS FROM INSIDE YOUR VEHICLES. Stow your electronics and accessories well out of sight-or better yet, bring it with you. Even sunglasses and coins can attract thieves. Report suspicious activity to the Annapolis Police Department immediately, CALL 410-268-4141 or 9-1-1.
