In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 117 calls for service and arrested 8 people.      
 
Theft from Vehicle – 201900001619 – 1000-1099 Norman Dr – 02/06 at 7am to 02/26 at 6:30pm: All four wheels were stolen from a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro.
 
Theft from Vehicle – 201900001627 – 800-899 Chesapeake Av – 04/01 at 10:30pm to 04/02 at 9am: An Under Armor backpack was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.


 
Community Meetings for Hiring of a New Annapolis Police Chief
The City of Annapolis is holding a series of community meetings to gather input from residents on the qualities and qualifications they seek in a new police chief. The public is invited to attend. The meetings are all scheduled to begin at 7pm, one more meeting is scheduled: 04/04 at the Mt. Olive Community Life Center at 2 Hicks Av.


 
Ward 4 / Newtowne Working Together
Homes at the Glen, Riders Glen, Woodside Gardens, Newtowne 20, Village Greens, and Berkshire Annapolis residents, Newtowne neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend the Newtowne Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 04/09, at 6:30pm at the American Legion, 1707 Forest Dr. Everyone is welcome.


 
Citizen Police Academy
The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to educate residents about their local police department. The Academy will start Monday, April 15 and meet from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3, 10, 17 and 24 at Annapolis Police Department, 199 Taylor Avenue. Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 04/23, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
