Man Arrested for Rape

On Monday, March 18th at 10:25 p.m. officers received a report of child sexual abuse from a family member and child victim who were at the police department to report the crime. The adult relative reported that the child confided in her that an adult male sexually assaulted the child. The adult male suspect is known to the child. The adult male suspect was identified as Richard Crowner, 43, of Annapolis.

Annapolis Police Department detectives launched an investigation into these allegations and, as a result, an arrest warrant was obtained for Crowner charging him with sexual abuse of a minor, second degree rape, third degree and fourth degree sex offense and second degree assault.

On March 19th at 10:25 a.m. Annapolis officers arrested Crowner in the 1200 block of Madison Street. Crowner is currently being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
