In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 93 calls for service and arrested 8 people.

Theft from Vehicle – 201900000563 – 900-999 Spa Rd – 01/29 at 10pm to 01/30 at 8:20am: All four wheels and tires were stolen from a 2017 Honda Civic.

Burglary – 201900000565 – 1900-1999 West St – 01/27 at 2:30pm to 01/30 at 10am: The front door to a business under construction was forced open and a Stihl jackhammer and two rolls of copper wire were stolen.

Theft from Vehicle – 201900000572 – 00-99 Bausum Dr – 01/29 at 11:30pm to 01/30 at 2pm: A wallet and black Swiss Gear backpack were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Attempted Theft of Vehicle – 201900000576 – 00-99 Peters Way – 01/30 from 11:30am to 12pm: An observant resident saw two men attempting to steal a John Deere tractor by loading it into the back of a pick up truck. The two suspects were scared off before they successfully stole the tractor and left the area. The incident was reported to officers several hours later.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
