In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 75 calls for service and arrested 7 people.
Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201900000546 – 500-599 Burnside St – 01/29 at 6am: The vehicle owner came out to his parked, unlocked vehicle to find a male suspect rummaging through the interior. The suspect left the vehicle without taking anything and walked down the street looking in the windows of other vehicles. The vehicle owner called the police, but officers did not locate the suspect.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 201900000554 – 1300-1399 Forest Dr – 01/29 at 6:30pm: An officer attempted to stop a white GMC Yukon for speeding, but the driver did not stop the vehicle and fled into a field at Annapolis Middle School. The occupants of the vehicle abandoned it in the field and ran towards the 1300 block of Tyler Av. Officers discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen to Anne Arundel County Police Department. The occupants of the vehicle were not located.
Tobacco Sales Compliance Checks
On 01/23 Detectives from the Annapolis Police Department conducted inspections of businesses that sell tobacco products. 40 businesses were checked and 2 establishments were found to be in violation by selling cigarettes to minors under the age of 18.
