In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 86 calls for service and arrested 2 people.   
 
Destruction of Property – 201800005300 – 1400-1499 Catlyn Pl – 12/04 at 11pm: A window to the home was shot at multiple times by an unknown suspect with a pellet gun.
 
Attempted Armed Robbery – 201800005357 – 1300-1399 McKinley St – 12/12 at 7pm: The adult male victim reported that he walked out to his driveway and a male suspect wearing dark colored clothing jumped out from behind his parked vehicle holding a knife in each hand. The suspect demanded money from the victim and attempted to cut the victim with a knife. The victim fled from the suspect and then the suspect left the area on foot. The victim followed the suspect and last saw him on President St near Van Buren St. The suspect was not located.
 
Burglary – 201800005363 – 1300-1399 Poplar Av – 12/12 from 6:30pm to 11:30pm: The rear door to the home was forced open and jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen.


 
Holiday Toy Drive
The Annapolis Police Department is accepting new, unwrapped toys to be given to local children this Christmas. Drop off toys to us at 199 Taylor Av. Toys will be collected until 12/17. The toys will be given to We Care and Friends at the Stanton Center.


 
Food Drive for Local Schools & Community Centers
The Annapolis Police Department will be accepting donations of food to help stock Annapolis food pantries at schools and community centers from 12/05 to 01/01. We need peanut butter, jelly, canned chili, canned chicken, canned, tuna, boxed macaroni and cheese or cups, pasta, individual cereal boxes, oatmeal packets, fruit/applesauce cups and canned ravioli. Please check expiration dates, expired food will not be accepted. You can drop off donations any time at the police department at 199 Taylor Avenue.


 
Cocoa with a Cop
Come and join us at Midnight Madness and the Miracle on Annapolis Street events. Midnight Madness is 12/13 and 12/20 and we will be outside on Main St between 6pm and 9pm to hand out free cups of hot chocolate to the community.  Miracle on Annapolis Street is 12/30 from 11am to 3pm. Take a few minutes and get to know your local law enforcement team, even better let your kids know how approachable the police are, should they ever need help.  Come sip Cocoa with a Cop! 


 
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 01/15, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
