In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 88 calls for service and arrested 4 people.
UPDATE - Armed Robbery – 201800005016 – 1100-1199 Bay Ridge Av – 11/20 at 6:30pm: On 11/21 an adult male victim reported that he was robbed the night before. The victim reported he was walking in the area when an adult female suspect hit him in the face with a metal pole. The victim fell to the ground. The suspect grabbed the victim’s backpack and fled the area. The victim was treated at an area hospital for his injuries to his face. UPDATE – The suspect in this case is identified as Tymeika Lewis, 29, of Annapolis. The victim and Lewis knew each other prior to the robbery. Lewis was arrested on 11/27 and charged with armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and theft. Lewis is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center prior to her initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
Thefts from Vehicles – 201800005087 & 5090 – 00-99 Ashford Ct and 00-99 Beacon Ct – 11/25 at 7pm to 11/26 at 8am: Money was stolen from two unlocked vehicles. These thefts are likely related to the attempted thefts reported on 11/26 at 1:20am in the same area.
Theft from Vehicle – 201800005095 – 200-299 Hilltop La – 11/26 from 11am to 1:30pm: A handicap parking pass was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 11/27, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.
Holiday Toy Drive
The Annapolis Police Department is accepting new, unwrapped toys to be given to local children this Christmas. Drop off toys to us at 199 Taylor Av. Toys will be collected until 12/17. The toys will be given to We Care and Friends at the Stanton Center.
Cocoa with a Cop
Come and join us at the Chocolate Binge Festival, Midnight Madness and Miracle on Annapolis Street events. The Chocolate Binge Festival is 12/02 from 12pm to 5pm in the first block of West St. Midnight Madness is 12/06, 12/13 and 12/20 and we will be outside between 6pm and 9pm to hand out free cups of hot chocolate to the community. Miracle on Annapolis Street is 12/30 from 11am to 3pm. Take a few minutes and get to know your local law enforcement team, even better let your kids know how approachable the police are, should they ever need help. Come sip Cocoa with a Cop!
