November 27 – Eastport Working Together – 1014 President St
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 123 calls for service and arrested 7 people.
Handgun Possession Arrest – 201800004699 – 100-199 Hillsmere Dr - 11/01 at 4:25pm: An observant caller reported a man illegally carrying a concealed handgun in the area. Officers located the described suspect, later identified as Dexter Burnside, 21, of Annapolis, and when they approached him he ran. Burnside ran towards Bens Dr. Officers followed him and caught up to him in the open stairwell of one of the apartment buildings on Bens Dr. Burnside reached his hands into his waistband, but removed them when officers gave him commands. When Burnside removed his hands a handgun fell out of his waistband to the ground. The handgun was loaded and reported stolen. Burnside was arrested and charged with six criminal counts relating to the illegal carrying of the stolen loaded handgun. Burnside is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
Theft from Vehicle – 201800004704 – 200-299 Hanover St – 11/01 from 5pm to 8:40pm: A window to the vehicle was smashed and a black backpack and money were stolen.
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 11/27, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.
