In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 327 calls for service and arrested 9 people.   
 
Critical Missing Person Found – 201800004591 – 300-399 Taylor Av – 10/26 at 4:56pm: Officers were called about a missing 62 year old man who suffers from dementia. He left a home on foot about an hour prior to the report being made. Information about the missing man was sent out on social media and a CodeRED emergency alert was sent out to homes in the surrounding area. A resident receiving a CodeRED call on Market St reported seeing the missing man and officers were able to quickly locate him on Union St. He was returned home safe and unharmed. Armed Robbery – 201800004594 – Americana Dr near Little Harbor Way – 10/26 at 7:30pm: The adult male victim was walking in the area when he was grabbed from behind by a man wearing a face mask. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet. The suspect took the wallet and left the area on foot, walking towards the shopping center. The suspect was not located.

On 10/25 an alcohol compliance operation was conducted in Annapolis. The following businesses were checked and were in compliance:

Parole Liquors

Stan and Joe’s
 
Annapolis Smokehouse, Annapolis Wine and Spirits, Annebeth’s, Blackwall Hitch, Canton Restaurant, El Toro Bravo, Galway Bay, Lighthouse Wine & Spirits, Rams Head Tavern and Rite Aid were cited for alcohol sales to under aged persons.

 
National Drug Take Back Event
On Saturday, 10/27, the Annapolis Police Department participated in the National Drug Take Back Event. During the event a total of 32 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in for destruction. The Annapolis Police Department also has a permanently installed medication disposal box in our lobby.  This disposal box is open normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm excluding holidays. Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 11/27, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
