In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 109 calls for service and arrested 2 people.   
 
Attempted Theft from Vehicles – 201800004043 – 200-299 Admiral Dr – 09/24 at 5am: An observant caller reported seeing a male suspect looking into parked vehicles and trying to open their doors. Two unlocked vehicles were entered, but nothing was stolen from either. Officers checked the area, but did not locate the suspect.
 
Stolen Vehicle – 201800004045 – 00-99 Gentry Ct – 09/23 at 8pm to 09/24 at 7am: A white Jeep Cherokee, MD reg. 34766M3, was stolen.
 
Stolen Vehicle – 201800004050 – 200-299 Farragut Ct – 09/23 at 11pm to 09/24 at 6am: A grey 2003 Dodge Durango, MD reg. 7AK9383, was stolen.
 
Assist Other Agency – 201800004058 – Annapolis St and Monterey Av – 09/24 at 9:30pm: The Maryland State Police notified the Annapolis Police Department of a vehicle pursuit entering the city. The vehicle stopped on Annapolis St near Monterey Av and Annapolis officers assisted the Maryland State Police when the driver refused to exit the vehicle. At 10:53pm the suspect exited the vehicle and was taken into custody by the Maryland State Police. The residents of six homes in the area were asked to stay inside their homes until the situation was resolved.
 
Burglary – 201800004061 – 500-599 Burnside St – 09/25 from 1:20am to 2am: The resident reported a man walking around in his backyard looking in the windows of his home. Officers arrived and located a man outside on the sidewalk next to the home. While officers were speaking to the man a second subject ran into the home. Officers located Kristen Kiser, 28, of Annapolis hiding in the basement of the home. Kiser was arrested and charged with fourth degree burglary. Kiser was released by the District Court Commissioner on her own recognizance. The male subject was not charged.


 
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Wednesday, 09/26, from 12pm to 1pm at the Annapolis Library at Monarch Academy located at 2000 Capital Dr. Drop in anytime during the hour officers will be at the library. The officers are there to say hi and answer questions. We will also be celebrating National Coffee with a Cop Day on Wednesday, 10/03. Officers will be at Starbucks at 122 Main St and Starbucks at 951 Bay Ridge Rd from 9am to 11am.


 
Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety meeting will be held, Wednesday, 10/10, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Avenue. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting.  As always we will be going over the current crime trends in Annapolis.  Food will be served so please RSVP to Sergeant Amy Miguez at 410-268-9000 ext. 7261 or amiguez@annapolis.gov. 


 
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 10/16, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
