In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 165 calls for service and arrested 7 people.   
 
Theft-201800003627-600 block of Americana Dr-Sometime between 5:30pm on 8/28/18 and 10am on 8/29/18 an unknown person removed a purple 24 inch “Liv” bicycle from the location.
 
Assault-201800003619-1100 block of Medgar Evers St-On 8/29/18 at 2pm officers responded to a report of a subject down on the ground in the 1100 block of Medgar Evers St. Officers located the subject suffering from a head injury and the subject was flown to Shock Trauma for treatment. Investigation revealed the subject had been assaulted.
 
Stolen Auto-201800003621-100 block of Green St-On 8/29/18 sometime between 10:30am and 4:30pm a Silver Honda Civic was stolen from the location.
 
Burglary-201800003623-100 block of Roselawn Rd-On 8/29/18 sometime between 6:45am and 7:15 pm an unknown person forced entry into the location and took property.
  
Pre-Labor Day Parade and City Offices Closed
There will be road closures on Sunday, 09/02, due to the Annual Pre-Labor Day Elks Parade. Road closures are scheduled between 3pm and 5pm from West St at Amos Garrett Blvd to Calvert St. City of Annapolis offices will be closed on Monday, 09/03, in observance of Labor Day.
 
No Citizen Fingerprinting September 3rd
There will be no citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, 09/03. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 09/10, at 6:30pm.
 
Administrative Hearing Board – Public Viewing
The Annapolis Police Department will be conducting an Administrative Hearing Board at the request of the police officer who disputes the outcome of an Internal Affairs Investigation. In accordance with Annotated Code of Maryland, Public Safety Article, Section 3-107 (e)(1)(ii), “the hearing shall be open to the public, unless the Chief finds a hearing must be closed for good cause, including to protect a confidential informant, an undercover officer, or a child witness.” If you plan to watch the live feed of the hearing board, please come to the Annapolis Police Department at 199 Taylor AvenueAnnapolisMD 21401 by 9:30 a.m. on September 6 and 7. Individuals attending an Administrative Hearing Board must act in a respectful manner. Audio and video recordings are not permitted during an Administrative Hearing Board. Cookies with a Cop
Join us for Cookies with a Cop, Tuesday, September 18 at 10:30am at the Annapolis Library at Monarch Academy located at 2000 Capital Dr. Bring your children to meet an Annapolis officer. Learn about their job, listen to stories, make crafts and munch on a cookie.
 
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Monday, September 10 from 2pm to 4pm at Starbucks located at 951 Bay Ridge Rd. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks.  We also have a Coffee with a Cop scheduled at the Annapolis Library at Monarch Academy located at 2000 Capital Dr on Wednesday, September 26 from 10am to 11am. The officers will be at both locations to say hi and answer questions.
 
Citizen Police Academy
The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to educate residents about their local police department. The Academy will start Wednesday, September 26 and meet from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on September 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, November 7, 14, 21, and 28 at Annapolis Police Department, 199 Taylor Avenue. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
