In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 149 calls for service and arrested 6 people.
Theft of Package – 201800003375 – 900-999 President St – 08/13 from 8am to 4pm: A package delivered to the apartment was stolen. Through investigation a suspect was identified. Tarrena Parker, 47, of Annapolis was arrested and charged on a citation with theft.
Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201800003380 – 100-199 Green St – 08/14 at 4:15pm: An observant caller reported seeing a male suspect inside a parked vehicle. The suspect left the area prior to officers arriving, but was located on Main St near Church Circle. The vehicle owner confirmed that he did not have permission to be inside the vehicle. Nothing was stolen from the unlocked vehicle. James Thomas, 48, of Annapolis was arrested and charged with rogue and vagabond. Thomas was released on his own recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
Newtowne Movie Night
Newtowne 20, Woodside Gardens, Rider’s Glen and Homes on the Glen residents are invited to attend Newtowne Movie Night on Wednesday, 08/15, at 8pm. We will be set up in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive with FREE Hot dogs, popcorn, water and a screening of the movie SING. Bring your blankets and beach towels!
No Citizen Fingerprinting in August
There will be no citizen fingerprinting offered in August or Monday, 09/03. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 09/10, at 6:30pm.
Citizen Police Academy
The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to educate residents about their local police department. The Academy will start Wednesday, September 26 and meet from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on September 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7 and 14 at Annapolis Police Department, 199 Taylor Avenue.
