Shooting Reported in Annapolis
On June 30th at 12:26 a.m. officers responded to a building in the 1800 block of West Street for a report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male shooting victim outside on Edgewood Avenue between West Street and McGuckian Street. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment. There is no further information at this time.
Detectives are investigating this incident. The shooting is believed to have occurred outside a social event being held at the building in the 1800 block of West St. Numerous people were present at the event. UPDATE
Through investigation detectives identified Ronreques Johnson, 24, of Annapolis as the suspect in this shooting. An arrest warrant charging Johnson with attempted first degree murder and six other charges was issued and he was arrested on August 3 in Glen Burnie. Johnson is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
At the time Johnson was arrested he was in a vehicle with Kendall Brown, Jr., 25, of Glen Burnie. Brown had a handgun in his possession when officers stopped him. Brown was arrested and charged by Anne Arundel County Police detectives with possession of a handgun and two other related charges. Brown was released from the Jennifer Road Detention Center after posting $2,500 bond.
