In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 103 calls for service and arrested 3 people.   
 
Theft from Boat – 201800003102 – 7000-7099 Bembe Beach Rd – 06/23 to 07/24: A Tohatsu outboard motor was stolen from a dinghy.
 
Theft of Bicycle – 201800003106 – 1000-1099 Spa Rd – 07/15 to 07/29: A red and white Schwinn Cruiser Point Beach bicycle was stolen when it was left unsecured on the rear patio of an apartment home.
 
Theft of Bicycle – 201800003108 – 1800-1899 Copeland St – 07/28 at 4pm to 07/29 at 6pm: A black, red and grey 24” Mongoose boy’s bicycle was stolen from in front of a home.
 
Theft of Bicycle – 201800003112 – 1200-1299 Grant St – 07/29 at 8pm to 07/30 at 5:30pm: A blue Schwinn boy’s bicycle was stolen from the yard of a home. The bicycle was secured with a lock, which was cut to steal the bicycle.


 
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Wednesday, August 1 from 9am to 11am at Starbucks located at 122 Main Street. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks.  The officers are there to say hi and answer questions.


 
National Night Out
National Night Out events have been planned by several communities in Annapolis for the evening of Tuesday, 08/07. National Night Out is America’s night out against crime. Officers from the Annapolis Police Department will be attending events planned for Obery Court, Chambers Park, Annapolis Gardens and Bay Ridge Gardens. If you live in these communities please come and join us and your neighbors. If your neighborhood isn’t hosting an event this year please consider planning one for next year. National Night Out is always the first Tuesday in August.


 
Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety meeting will be held, Wednesday, 08/08, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Avenue. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting.  As always we will be going over the current crime trends in Annapolis.  Food will be served so please RSVP to Sergeant Amy Miguez at 410-268-9000 ext. 7261 or amiguez@annapolis.gov. 


 
No Citizen Fingerprinting in August
There will be no citizen fingerprinting offered in August or Monday, 09/03. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 09/10, at 6:30pm.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
