August 1 - Coffee with a Cop - 122 Main St (Starbucks)


 
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 97 calls for service and arrested 9 people.   
 
Burglary – 201800002980 – 1400-1499 Forest Dr – 07/21 at 1pm to 07/23 at 8am: Several suites in an office building had damage to their locks and seven appeared to have been entered. Nothing was reported stolen from any of the suites.
 
Theft from Vehicle – 201800002992 – 200-299 Old Solomons Island Rd – 07/23 from 4:55pm to 5:05pm: A bag of medication was stolen from a vehicle left with a window partially down.
 
Theft from Vehicle – 201800002997 – 00-99 Heritage Ct – 07/24 at 4:15am: An observant caller reported seeing a male suspect inside a vehicle which had been left unlocked. The suspect noticed he was being watched and fled the area on a bicycle. Officers did not locate him. The owner reported money was stolen from the vehicle.
 
Critically Missing Adult – 201800002986 – 100-199 West St – 07/19 at 4pm: On 07/23 Charles Kaufman, 27, of Annapolis was reported missing by family members concerned for his welfare. Mr. Kaufman is a Caucasian male with blue eyes and short, ear length, brown hair and a short brown beard. Mr. Kaufman has a sleeve of tattoos on his right forearm and a tattoo on the inside of his left forearm. He was last seen on 07/19 at 4pm in the 100 block of West St wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt and black basketball shorts. There are factors which make Mr. Kaufman a critically missing adult. Please contact our detectives at 410-260-3439 or 410-268-4141 if you have any information about his whereabouts.
 
Critically Missing Adult – Also on 07/23 Scott Budich, 42, of Annapolis was reported missing by concerned family members. Mr. Budich is a Caucasian male, 6’01”, 180 lbs. He has ties to Edgewood Rd and Riverview Av in Annapolis. There are factors which make Mr. Budich a critically missing adult. Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Wednesday, August 1 from 9am to 11am at Starbucks located at 122 Main Street. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks.  The officers are there to say hi and answer questions.


 
No Citizen Fingerprinting in August
There will be no citizen fingerprinting offered in August or Monday, 09/03. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 09/10, at 6:30pm.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
