Tobacco Sales Compliance Checks
On 06/27 Detectives from the Annapolis Police Department conducted inspections of businesses that sell tobacco products. 36 businesses were checked and 1 establishment was found to be in violation by selling cigarettes to minors under the age of 18.

Fourth of July
City offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. A parade will begin at 6:30pm on Amos Garrett Blvd and proceed down West St to Church Circle and then down Main St to the City Dock. There is no parking allowed along the parade route. Fireworks over the Annapolis harbor will begin at 9:15pm. Main St and the Spa Creek/Eastport Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning at 6pm and remain closed until after the fireworks conclude and the crowds have subsided, after 10pm. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
