In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 275 calls for service and arrested 9 people.
UPDATE - Shots Fired – 201800002091 – 800-899 Betsy Ct – 05/30 at 8:50pm: Officers responded for reports of shots fired and located a home struck by a bullet in the area. No other victims or suspects were located. UPDATE – Through investigation Damisi Jones, 17, of Annapolis was quickly identified as the suspect in this shots fired incident. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jones and on 06/01 he turned himself in to police. Jones was charged as an adult with handgun on person, disorderly conduct, and three other related weapons charges. Jones is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
Burglary – 201800002111 – 900-999 Van Buren St – 05/31 at 11pm to 06/01 at 2pm: An Apple laptop computer was stolen. The resident believes a door to the home may have been left unlocked.
Burglary – 201800002123 – 100-199 Jefferson St – 06/01 from 4:30pm to 6pm: A laptop computer was stolen from the home after the resident left the home and did not lock the doors.
Make Safe Happen Day
On Saturday, June 9, the police department will be participating in this free community event organized by Calvary United Methodist Church. The event features numerous organizations focused on safety, including the fire department and the American Red Cross.
