In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 72 calls for service and arrested 6 people.
Robbery – 201800001823 – 1900 block of Forest Dr – 05/15 at 9:25am: An adult female victim was walking on the sidewalk when an adult male suspect approached her and started talking to her. The suspect grabbed the woman’s purse and pushed her causing her to fail to the ground. He fled on foot towards Chinquapin Round Rd.
Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201800001830 – 1900 block of Moreland Pkwy – 05/15 from 12pm to 2:40pm: An unknown suspect attempted to enter a vehicle through a rear window to reach a purse left inside. The suspect was startled by a passerby. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
Administrative Hearing Board – Public Viewing
The Annapolis Police Department will be conducting an Administrative Hearing Board at the request of the police officer who disputes the outcome of an Internal Affairs Investigation. In accordance with Annotated Code of Maryland, Public Safety Article, Section 3-107 (e)(1)(ii), “the hearing shall be open to the public, unless the Chief finds a hearing must be closed for good cause, including to protect a confidential informant, an undercover officer, or a child witness.” If you plan to watch the live feed of the hearing board, please come to the Annapolis Police Department at 199 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 by 9 a.m. on May 16. Individuals attending an Administrative Hearing Board must act in a respectful manner. Audio and video recordings are not permitted during an Administrative Hearing Board.
Kids to Parks Day
Annapolis Recreation and Parks is taking part in the 8th annual National Park Trust Kids to Parks Day on May 19 from 9am to 5pm at various locations in Truxtun Park. This is a free event. Run for the Dogs in Blue 5K Run and Walk
Chesapeake K-9 Fund is holding its second annual 5K run and walk to support local law enforcement K-9 units, including the one here at the Annapolis Police Department.
