In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 318 calls for service and arrested 17 people.
UPDATE Armed Robbery – 201800001620 – 700 block of Newtowne Dr – 04/30 at 4:11pm: An adult male cab driver had two male fares in the cab when one of the men produced a handgun and demanded money from the cab driver. The cab driver drove into the 700 block of Newtowne Dr and locked the suspects in the cab. The suspects fled the cab while it was moving and then fired a round into the cab striking the cab, but not the driver. The cab driver drove away and called the police. The suspects were not located. UPDATE – Through investigation detectives were able to identify Leslie Broadway, 19, of Severn as a suspect in this robbery. On 05/02 Broadway was located in Severn and arrested. Broadway was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and ten other charges related to this crime. Broadway is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond. UPDATE – A second suspect was identified as Myriah Adams, 22, of Glen Burnie. She was arrested on 05/05 and charged with armed robbery and eleven other related charges.
Burglary and Stolen & Recovered Vehicle – 201800001677 & 1684 – 400 block of Hammond Pl – 05/04 from 2pm to 6pm: At 6pm officers responded to Glenwood St for a report of a hit and run accident. The driver fled the striking vehicle after the accident. Officers attempted to make contact with the vehicle’s owner in Virginia. At 4am on 05/05 the vehicle’s owner contacted police and reported that the vehicle was left parked with the only key inside a home on Hammond Pl. Officers responded to that home and discovered the home had been entered through an unlocked window. A 32” Vizio TV and the vehicle keys were stolen.
Burglary – 201800001685 – 1900 block of Drew St – 05/04 at 8pm to 05/05 at 6:30am: A locked shed was broken into and a lawn mower was stolen. The lawn mower was discovered by officers in the unit block of Parole St and returned to the owner
Burglary – 201800001695 – 1200 block of Van Buren St – 05/05 from 6:45pm to 9:30pm: An open window was entered and two laptop computers and a Samsung tablet computer were stolen.
Theft from Vehicle – 201800001699 – Unit block of Northwest St – 05/05 at 8pm to 05/06 at 2am: A side window to the vehicle was shattered and money was stolen.
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, May 8, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Join us to start planning a community dinner and peace march. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Monday, May 14 from 4pm to 6pm at Starbucks located at 122 Main Street. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks. The officers are there to say hi and answer questions.

Kids to Parks Day
Annapolis Recreation and Parks is taking part in the 8th annual National Park Trust Kids to Parks Day on May 19 from 9am to 5pm at various locations in Truxtun Park. This is a free event. Run for the Dogs in Blue 5K Run and Walk
Chesapeake K-9 Fund is holding its second annual 5K run and walk to support local law enforcement K-9 units, including the one here at the Annapolis Police Department.
