In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 102 calls for service and arrested 4 people.   
 
Theft from Vehicle – 201800001508 – Unit block of Spindrift Way – 04/22 at 6:30pm to 04/23 at 8:30am: A blue Tory Birch bag containing a laptop computer and Apple Earpods was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The laptop computer was recovered abandoned on 04/23 at 11:45am in the 1000 block of President St.
 
Metal Thefts – 201800001509 and 1515 – Unit block of Cathedral St and Unit block of Cornhill St – 04/16 at 12pm to 04/23 at 12pm: Two iron gates that closed across a driveway on Cathedral St were stolen. They may have been seen in the rear bed of a dark blue pick up truck on 04/19. Two heavy metal lanterns were also stolen from outside a home on Cornhill St.
 
Burglary – 201800001510 – Unit block of Fleet St – 04/22 from 12pm to 9pm: After entering the home through an unlocked door two handguns, an Apple MacBook laptop computer, and men’s cologne were stolen.
 
Robbery – 201800001513 – 1100 block of President St – 04/23 at 2:15pm: The adult female victim was outside the rear of a home, knocking on the door, when two men who had been sitting near by tackled her and started going through her pants’ pockets. The men demanded money then took her wallet and fled into a home. Officers arrived and located two men, who were identified as the suspects, inside the home. Vernon Harrison, 19, of Annapolis and Louis Newman, 18, of Brooklyn were arrested and charged with robbery, assault, and theft. Both are being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.


 
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, May 8, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Join us to start planning a community dinner and peace march. Community service hours are available for HACA residents.


 
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Monday, May 14 from 4pm to 6pm at Starbucks located at 122 Main Street. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks.  The officers are there to say hi and answer questions.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
