March 7 – Citizen Police Academy Starts – 199 Taylor Av

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 131 calls for service and arrested 6 people.

Theft from Vehicle – 201800000572 – 500 block of Taylor Av – 02/10 at 12am to 02/15 at 11:30am: A window to the vehicle was forced open and the stereo head unit was removed from the dashboard and stolen.

City Offices Closed & No Citizen Fingerprinting
City offices will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2018 for President’s Day. There will also be no citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, February 19, 2018. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.

Citizen Police Academy
The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to educate residents about their local police department. The Academy will start Wednesday, March 7 and meet from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on March 7, 14, 21, April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 2 at Annapolis Police Department, 199 Taylor Avenue. Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
