In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 95 calls for service and arrested 3 people.

Burglary – 201800000392 – Unit block of Fisk Circle – 01/30 from 6:15pm to 8:45pm: The rear door to the home was forced open and jewelry was stolen.

Attempted Robbery – 201800000396 – Unit block of West Washington St – 01/31 at 12:50am: The adult male victim was sitting inside a vehicle when a male suspect wearing a black mask over his face opened his passenger side door and demanded money several times. The suspect was holding his right hand in his jacket pocket as he did so causing the victim to believe he might be armed. The victim did not hand over any money and the suspect fled the area on foot. Officers located the suspect in the unit block of Pleasant St. The suspect was identified as Kenan Johnson, 18, of Annapolis. Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted robbery. He is awaiting his initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
