In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 113 calls for service and arrested 3 people.
Robbery – 201800000226 – 1100 block of Madison St – 01/18 at 3:30am: Officers responded to the area for reports of a woman screaming for help in the stairwell of the apartment building. Officers arrived and located the adult female victim lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairwell. She reported that she was assaulted from behind in the stairwell, punched in the back and thrown down the stairs. Her wallet was stolen from her purse and the suspects fled the area. The victim suffered an injury to her ankle from the assault. Officers were able to identify two suspects in this robbery, Keithan Howard, 47, and Robert Williams, 52, both of Annapolis. Howard was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of CDS. Williams was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, assault, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit theft. Howard is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond and Williams is awaiting his initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
Stolen Vehicle – 201800000234 – Unit block of Hearthstone Ct – 01/15 at 10am to 01/18 at 6:45am: A red 2001 Dodge Ram pick up truck, NC reg. PBS7784, was stolen. The paint on the vehicle is chipping and gives it a pink appearance. Also, the front plate on the vehicle is a souvenir plate that reads “Bumpass Ford”.
Tobacco Sales Compliance
On 01/18 officers and Explorers from the Annapolis Police Department conducted tobacco sales compliance checks on businesses in Annapolis. Of the 49 businesses inspected four failed the inspection. Royal Farms at 424 Sixth St, Gritz Liquors at 34 West St, West St BP at 910 West St, and Oceanic Gas Station at 1207 West St were cited for selling tobacco to a minor.
Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, January 30th, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Everyone is welcome. Food will be provided and community service hours are available for HACA residents.
