Help Prevent Holiday Package Thefts
If possible, have your holiday packages delivered to a location where they can be received by a trusted person.  Ask neighbors who are home during the day to watch for deliveries.  Request that the shipper holds the package at their facility for pick up.  Track deliveries online and confirm delivery has occurred.  Insure valuable items.  Provide delivery instructions, so packages are left out of sight from the street.  Watch out for vehicles following delivery vans through neighborhoods.  Some thieves will simply shadow deliver drivers and go from house to house stealing newly delivered packages.  When sending packages take them to a post office or other shipping facility, rather than leaving them outside your home for pick up.  Let the person you are sending the package to know to expect the package.  If you see suspicious activity, or if your package is stolen call 410-268-4141 to report it to the police.

Make a Plan to get Home Safely
‘Tis the season to be merry, but if you are making merry by drinking and driving, make a new plan.  Make a plan for getting home safely before heading to your holiday party.  If you see a suspected drunk driver, report it to the police by calling 410-268-4141 or 9-1-1.

Cocoa with a Cop
Come and join me at Midnight Madness on December 14th.  Myself and other Officers from the Annapolis Police Department will be outside on Francis Street at Main Street to hand out free cups of hot chocolate to the community.  Stop by between 6pm and 9pm, you can sip a yummy cup of hot chocolate and meet some of Annapolis’ Finest. Take a few minutes and get to know your local law enforcement team, even better let your kids know how approachable the police are, should they ever need help.  Come sip Cocoa with a Cop!

Holiday Toy Drive
The Annapolis Police Department is accepting new, unwrapped toys to be given to local children this Christmas. Drop off toys to us at 199 Taylor Av. Toys will be collected until December 15th. The toys will be given to We Care and Friends at the Stanton Center.
