In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 106 calls for service and arrested 5 people.
Robbery – 201700005159 – Bywater Rd at Annapolitan Rd – 12/04 at 12:40pm: The adult female victim reported that she stopped her vehicle in the area to investigate an unusual noise coming from the under carriage. She got out of the vehicle to investigate and as she started to reenter the vehicle an adult male suspect appeared next to her. The suspect pushed her to the ground, grabbing the purse she had draped across her shoulder. The victim struggled briefly to keep the purse, but the suspect pulled it out of her grasp and fled on foot up Bywater Rd turning onto Whiton Ct or Copeland St. The suspect was not located.
Holiday Toy Drive
The Annapolis Police Department is accepting new, unwrapped toys to be given to local children this Christmas. Drop off toys to us at 199 Taylor Av. Toys will be collected until December 15th. The toys will be given to We Care and Friends at the Stanton Center.
Como Ayudo a Mi Hijo/How Do I Help My Child
On Tuesday, 12/05, at 6pm at Annapolis Middle School the Annapolis Police Department and Anne Arundel County Public Schools are sponsoring a meeting for the Latino Community. The meeting is designed to strengthen family relations and increase school involvement. During the presentation we will be encouraging families to involve their children in activities outside of the school. We are requesting community partners to attend and set up information tables. Eastport Working Together
Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 12/12, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Come prepared to discuss solutions to the most pressing issues concerning jobs, safety, education, community services, and social services in the Eastport community. Everyone is welcome. Food will be provided and community service hours are available for HACA residents.
Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety meeting will be held, Wednesday, 12/13, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Avenue. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting. The topic for this meeting is an overview of the training our officers receive during the police academy and yearly in service training. We are seeking the public’s input on training. If you cannot attend you can view the meeting on our Facebook Page, live or at your convenience. If you would like to suggest training our officers should receive please email us at police@annapolis.gov. As always, we will also be going over the current crime trends in Annapolis.
