We've had two report this week of Annapolis businesses receiving a phone call from a caller asking for payment for a utility bill by prepaid or Green Dot MoneyPak cards. The caller ID showed the call coming from a BGE number, but this was a spoofed call. BGE will never call and ask for payment by Green Dot MoneyPak or prepaid other cards like this. Check out this article with some good tips https://www.bge.com/News/Pages/Press%20Releases/BGE-Cautions-Customers-against-Bill-Payment-Scams-and-Utility-Imposters.aspx.
