In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 131 calls for service and arrested 11 people.

There are no preventable Part One offenses to report this morning. Part One offenses are those incidents we report to the MD State Police and the F.B.I. These incidents include homicides, robberies, burglaries, rapes, serious assaults, and thefts.

Trunk or Treat
Join us at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church at 1120 Spa Rd for a Trunk or Treat spooktacular night on 10/27 from 6pm to 8:30pm. Howlin’ Hustle 5K
Join us at the 2017 Howlin’ Hustle, a 5K Walk/Run, presented by the Annapolis Police Department in support of Special Olympics Maryland. It is a 5K course around beautiful Annapolis on October 28^th and is guaranteed to be a spooktackular good time. Registration will open at 6:30am and the 5K will begin at 7:30am. National Drug Take Back Event
On Saturday, 10/28, from 10am to 2pm the Annapolis Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 14th opportunity in seven years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the Annapolis Police Department at 199 Taylor Avenue. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about the October 28^th Take Back Day event, go to the DEA Diversion website. The Annapolis Police Department also has a permanently installed medication disposal box in our lobby. This disposal box is open normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm excluding holidays.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
