West Street Fatal Accident

Date & Time:  October 1, 2017 @ 10:32 p.m.
Motor Vehicle #1:  2014 Toyota Venza, SUV
Driver of Motor Vehicle #1:  Gail Jones, 66, of Annapolis, MD
Injuries:  Minor
Motor Vehicle #2:  2015 Honda Motorcycle
Driver of Motor Vehicle #2:  Zachary Long, 20, of Odenton, MD
Injuries:  Fatal

Officers from the Annapolis Police Department Traffic Safety Unit are investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a motorcycle.
At 10:32 p.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Street near 1926 West Street.  A Toyota SUV being driven by a 66 year old woman was turning westbound on West Street out of the gas station located at 1926 West Street when the motorcycle was traveling westbound on West Street.  The SUV and the motorcycle collided killing the 20 year old motorcycle operator.
The driver of the SUV remained on the scene and assisted us with the investigation. 
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
