In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 279 calls for service and arrested 9 people.
Gun Arrest – 201700004126 – 1300 block of Tyler Av – 09/29 at 11:10am: An observant caller reported a man shooting a handgun in the neighborhood. Officers responded and located the person described as the shooter, who fled as officers approached him. As he was running, he threw a handgun, but officers quickly caught the man and recovered the handgun. The man was identified as Colando Colbert, 22, of Glen Burnie. Colbert was arrested and charged with seven charges including possession of the firearm as a convicted felon and trespassing. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
Theft from Vehicle – 201700004146 – Unit block of Silverwood Circle – 10/01 from 12:00am to 12:20am: A purse was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201700004149 – 900 block of Breakwater Dr – 10/01 at 3:40am: An observant caller reported seeing a person looking into vehicles parked in the area. When officers arrived they found a vehicle with the tailgate open. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – 201700004158 – 1900 block of West St – 10/01 at 10:30pm: A motorcycle and Toyota SUV collided resulting in the death of the motorcycle operator.
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for the next Coffee with a Cop, Tuesday, October 4 from 2pm to 4pm at Starbucks located at 124 Dock Street. Drop in anytime during the two hours officers will be at Starbucks. The officers are there to say hi and answer questions.
Citizen Fingerprinting
No citizen fingerprinting will be offered on Monday, October 9. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, October 16 at 6:30pm.
Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety meeting will be held, Wednesday, October 11 from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Avenue. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting. Howlin’ Hustle 5K
Join us at the 2017 Howlin’ Hustle, a 5K Walk/Run, presented by the Annapolis Police Department in support of Special Olympics Maryland. It is a 5K course around beautiful Annapolis on October 28th and is guaranteed to be a spooktackular good time. Registration will open at 6:30am and the 5K will begin at 7:30am.
