Theft from Vehicle – 201700003559 – Unit block of Cathedral St – 08/20 to 08/21: Money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Shots Fired – 201700003569 – Unit block of Bens Dr – 08/21 at 9:20pm: Officers responded for a report of shots fired, no victims or suspects were located. An hour later a victim reported a vehicle window was damaged by a bullet while it was parked and unoccupied.

Cover the Cruiser Event
Join us August 23 from 3pm to 8pm at the Chick-fil-A on Somerville Road for the First Annual Cover the Cruiser event. The Maryland Law Enforcement Torch Run and Chick-fil-A have partnered to raise awareness and resources for Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD). The goal is to collect as many donations as possible for SOMD by selling paper icons that will cover the police car.

Road Closures and Delays - Annapolis 10 Mile Race
Prepare for road closures and delays in Annapolis on Sunday, August 27, between 6:45am and 9:30am. The Annapolis 10 Mile Race will start at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and roads will be closed on a rolling basis in that area, downtown Annapolis, and surrounding the Naval Academy Bridge. Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
