FRAUD ALERT - Special attention landscaping companies
A new twist on overpayment scams has hit two local landscapers in the past week. The companies were contacted by phone or email and asked to perform landscaping work at homes in Annapolis. The scammers had no connection to the homes, but told the victims they wanted the work done before they moved into the homes. The companies received checks by mail for over the amount billed and then were asked to transfer the excess to another bank account. Learn more about overpayment scams here
