In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 98 calls for service and arrested 6 people. 
 
Theft of Packages – 201700003453 and 3458 – Unit block of Ironstone Ct – 08/14 from 11am to 3pm and 08/16 from 9am to 2:45pm:  Packages delivered to two different homes were stolen after they were delivered to the front steps of the homes.
 
Stolen Motorcycle – 201700003474 – 700 block of South Cherry Grove Av – 08/01 at 12pm to 08/12 at 12pm:  A red 2005 Yamaha R105, MD reg. 40211Y was stolen. 
 
Armed Subject – 201700003482 – Unit block of Rockwell Ct – 08/17 at 9pm:  Officers responded to the area for a report of a man walking outside with a long gun.  When they arrived the man was inside a residence.  Officers made contact with the man and determined he needed to be transported to a hospital.  The man was taken to a local hospital and several firearms were taken from the home.


 
Cover the Cruiser Event
Join us August 23 from 3pm to 8pm at the Chick-fil-A on Somerville Road for the First Annual Cover the Cruiser event.  The Maryland Law Enforcement Torch Run and Chick-fil-A have partnered to raise awareness and resources for Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD). The goal is to collect as many donations as possible for SOMD by selling paper icons that will cover the police car.


 
DUI Checkpoint
The Annapolis Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Wednesday, 08/23, from 9pm to 1am on Bay Ridge Av and Monroe St.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips.

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
