August 9 – Neighborhood Safety Meeting from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters at 199 Taylor Av
In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 366 calls for service and arrested 22 people.
201700003262-Assault-1400 Block Tyler Ave
On Aug 5th at approx 1:23 am the suspect cut the victim with a knife. Kelly Porter, 32 of Annapolis, was arrested on scene. The victim suffered a small laceration to the arm.
201700003264 - Shooting-1100 Block Madison Street
On August 5th at approx 05:30 am officers were dispatched to the Emergency Room at Anne Arundel Medical Center in reference to a shooting. Scott Lewis Sanders, 27 of Annapolis, walked into the Emergency Room suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Sanders was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment. Officers were able locate a crime scene in the 1100 block of Madison St.
201700003265 -Home Invasion-1400 Block Tyler Avenue
On Aug 5th at approx 5am officers responded to the residence for the report of several subjects who had forced their way inside to assault one of the occupants. The suspects then fled the area. The victim was subsequently transported to AAMC for medical treatment for minor injuries as a result of the assault.
201700003266-Theft from Vehicle- Unit block Constitution Ave
Sometime between Aug 4th at 1pm and Aug 5th at 7:20 am unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed property.
201700003267-Theft-1300 block Forest Dr
On Aug 4th at approx 11:58 pm the victim had their cell phone stolen from inside a business in the 1300 block of Forest Dr.
201700003294-Assault- Unit Block Kirby Lane
On Aug 6th at approx 10pm, officers responded to the unit block of Kirby Lane in reference to a subject down in the roadway being assaulted. Upon arrival, the victim was found lying in the roadway suffering from a head wound. Investigation revealed the victim was assaulted and struck in the head with an object by the suspects. The victim was driven to Shock Trauma for treatment of a head wound.
Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 9th from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters located at 199 Taylor Av. This meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. We will cover current crime trends in the city.
