August 9 – Neighborhood Safety Meeting from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters at 199 Taylor Av
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 112 calls for service and arrested 2 people.
Theft of Bicycle - 201700003087 - 1800 block of Virginia Av - 07/22 at 11pm to 07/23 at 4:30am: A maroon and white Trek 10 speed bicycle was stolen. The bicycle was secured to a tree when it was stolen.
Burglary - 201700003102 - 800 block of Monroe St - 07/25 at 11pm: An observant caller reported seeing a group of people inside a vacant apartment. Officers arrived and located the group that had been inside the apartment. One of the subjects, Sean Carney, 18, of Annapolis is the former tenant of the apartment. He admitted to climbing into the apartment through an unlocked window and letting the other subjects inside. Carney claimed to have permission to access the apartment, but the property manager was contacted and confirmed that Carney was NOT allowed in the apartment. Carney was arrested and charged with fourth degree burglary. He was released by the District Court Commissioner without bond.
National Night Out – August 1, 2017
“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” – https://natw.org. As a part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations the Annapolis Police Department challenged the City of Annapolis Alderwomen, Aldermen, and residents in each Ward to organize a National Night Out event. Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 9th from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters located at 199 Taylor Av. This meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. We will cover current crime trends in the city.
