August 9 – Neighborhood Safety Meeting from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters at 199 Taylor Av

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 140 calls for service and arrested 4 people.

There are no preventable Part One offenses to report this morning. Part One offenses are those incidents we report to the MD State Police and the F.B.I. These incidents include homicides, robberies, burglaries, rapes, serious assaults, and thefts.

National Night Out – August 1, 2017
“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” – https://natw.org. As a part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations the Annapolis Police Department challenged the City of Annapolis Alderwomen, Aldermen, and residents in each Ward to organize a National Night Out event. Neighborhood Safety Meeting
The next Neighborhood Safety Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 9^th from 6:30pm to 8pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters located at 199 Taylor Av. This meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. We will cover current crime trends in the city. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Please be assured that only your tip is communicated from Metro Crime Stoppers to the police department, not any identifying information about you. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. If you have crime or suspect information, please call, email, or use the P3 Tips smartphone app to submit your "tip". The Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline is available 24-hours a day Toll FREE 1-866-7LOCKUP. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
