In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 130 calls for service and arrested 15 people.
Burglary - 201700003018 & 3025 - Unit block of Heritage Ct - 07/20 at 12:45pm: The home owner arrived at the home and discovered a burglary with suspects still inside the home. One of the suspects, a 17 year old male from Annapolis, was detained by the owner and two fled the area on foot. Officers located one of the fleeing suspects, Ronald Sosa, 19, of Annapolis. Both were arrested and charged with the burglary. At 2:55pm officers returned to the same home for a report of another burglary in progress. Officers arrived and located the suspect, a 17 year old male from Annapolis, still inside the home. The juvenile was arrested and charged with burglary. The two juveniles were charged and released to their guardians. Sosa was charged and released by the District Court Commissioner.
Burglary - 201700003019 - 1200 block of Tyler Av - 07/19 at 4pm to 07/20 at 6am: A window to the home was forced open and a tow hitch, fireworks, and fishing rods were stolen.
National Night Out – August 1, 2017
“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” – https://natw.org. As a part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations the Annapolis Police Department challenged the City of Annapolis Alderwomen, Aldermen, and residents in each Ward to organize a National Night Out event.
