In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 129 calls for service and arrested 2 people.

Good News – On 06/20 at 11:45pm officers recovered the stolen Ford Escape taken from the 200 block of Lockwood Ct on 06/18. On 06/20 officers were in the 1400 block of Tyler Av when they saw the vehicle pull into a parking spot. The driver was identified as Jason Edmonds, 28, of Davidsonville. Edmonds was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, theft, and rogue and vagabond. Edmonds was released by the District Court Commissioner. Edmonds had the keys to the vehicle in his possession and there were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

Theft from Vehicle – 201700002516 – 100 block of Garden Gate La – 06/19 at 5:30pm to 06/20 at 7:15am: Old lottery tickets were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Burglary – 201700002517 – 200 block of Croll Dr – 06/18 from 11:20pm to 11:50pm: An unknown suspect entered the community center. There were no signs of forced entry. Nothing was taken or destroyed.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Please be assured that only your tip is communicated from Metro Crime Stoppers to the police department, not any identifying information about you. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
