In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 390 calls for service and arrested 11 people.
Theft from Vehicle – 201700002234 – 400 block of Taylor Av – 06/01 at 9pm to 06/02 at 7am: A knife was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle.
Burglary – 201700002244 – 200 block of McKendree Av – 05/31 at 10am to 06/02 at 2pm: The front door to the home was forced open and jewelry was stolen.
Theft from Vehicle – 201700002260 – 200 block of West St – 06/03 at 1:20pm: An adult female victim reported that when she left her vehicle briefly with the window down she saw a man reach into the vehicle and steal her purse. Officers quickly located a man, Jeremy Cox, 32, of Annapolis, matching the description given by the victim. He was identified as the man who reached into the vehicle and stole the purse. Officers search Cox and discovered items that had been inside the stolen purse in his pockets. Cox showed officers where he had discarded the stolen purse. All items were returned to the victim. Cox was arrested and charged with rogue and vagabond and theft. He was released by the District Court Commissioner without bond.
Burglary – 201700002265 – Unit block of Munroe Ct – 06/03 from 5:30pm to 10pm: The home was entered through an unlocked window and electronics were stolen. A bag left outside the unlocked window had items belonging to Jeremy Cox inside. Cox was arrested for a theft from vehicle earlier in the day. At 10:30pm officers located Cox on Clay St near Brewer St. Officers searched Cox and found a cell phone stolen from the home on Munroe Ct. Officers also found other items stolen from the home on Clay St near Pleasant St. Cox was arrested and charged with third and fourth degree burglary and theft. Cox is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
Theft from Vehicle – 201700002273 – Unit block of Munroe Ct – 06/01 at 10pm to 06/02 at 7:30am: Wireless Apple headphones and a brown leather bag with a Dell laptop computer inside were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
No Citizen Fingerprinting
There is no citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, 06/05, and Monday, 06/12. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 06/19, at 6:30pm.
APD 150th Anniversary Open House
On Saturday, June 17th from 12pm to 3pm the Annapolis Police Department will host an Open House at 199 Taylor Avenue. Come meet the police officers serving your community, watch a K-9 demonstration, learn more about your local Police Department and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun. There will be children’s activities as well as giveaways and food! We will have a presentation of our 150th Anniversary plaque as well as the announcing the two winners of our new APD Scholarship.
