In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 137 calls for service and arrested 12 people.
Aggravated Assault – 201700002204 – 1300 block of Tyler Av – 05/31 at 11:10pm: The adult male victim reported that he was outside in the area when he became involved in a verbal argument. The argument became physical and the male suspect cut the victim with a knife. The victim suffered injuries to his leg, hand, and face. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Armed Robbery – 201700002207 – 400 block of Sixth St – 06/01 at 1:45am: Three adult victims reported they were waiting for a ride in a parking lot when they were approached by two male suspects, both armed with handguns. The suspects demanded money from the victims, took money, and fled the area on foot.
Street Closures - ZOOMA Races
A number of streets in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will be closed during the morning of Saturday, 06/03, for the ZOOMA half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The events begin at 7am and all streets in downtown Annapolis will be open by 7:50am. A rolling closing and opening of streets in the city will begin at 7am with police directing traffic as first and last runners enter and exit the streets. No Citizen Fingerprinting
There is no citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, 06/05, and Monday, 06/12. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 06/19, at 6:30pm.
APD 150th Anniversary Open House
On Saturday, June 17th from 12pm to 3pm the Annapolis Police Department will host an Open House at 199 Taylor Avenue. Come meet the police officers serving your community, watch a K-9 demonstration, learn more about your local Police Department and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun. There will be children’s activities as well as giveaways and food! We will have a presentation of our 150th Anniversary plaque as well as the announcing the two winners of our new APD Scholarship.
