In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 320 calls for service and arrested 16 people.
Burglary – 201700001727 – Unit block of Silopanna Rd – 04/30 at 10:30pm: Officers responded to the building for an intrusion alarm and discovered an unlocked door and window. There was no one inside the building, but it appeared someone entered the building, stole money, and fled before officers arrived.
Attempted Robbery – 201700001728 – Unit block of Market Space - 05/01 at 4:30am: The adult male victim reported that he was sleeping outside in the area when two men assaulted him and attempted to steal his backpack. The victim resisted and sustained minor injuries to his chest, neck, and face. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Citizen Fingerprinting Cancelled
There will be no citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, May 1 and Monday, May 8. Citizen fingerprinting will resume on Monday, May 15 at 6:30pm. For information on other locations that offer fingerprinting services visit http://www.dpscs.state.md.us/publicservs/fingerprint.shtml.
Be Alert for a BGE Scam
Some Annapolis residents and businesses have received phone calls from callers asking for payment of overdue utility bills by reloadable prepaid gift cards. BGE will never call and ask for payment by gift card. Always verify the identity of anyone calling regarding your account, in particular calls regarding payment or questions about personal financial information.
