In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 400 calls for service and arrested 26 people.

Burglary - 201700001592 - 1800 block of McGuckian St - 04/21 at 8pm to 04/22 at 9am: A window to the business was forced open and two vehicles were stolen from inside the garage. One vehicle was recovered parked and unoccupied in Hyattsville. The second stolen vehicle is a silver 2014 Acura MDX SUV. The vehicle did not have any tags on it when it was stolen.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle - 201700001600 - 1500 block of Forest Dr - 04/22 at 6:15pm: An observant caller reported seeing a suspect inside her parked vehicle, giving officers a description of the suspect and the direction they fled in. Officers located Diana Allen, 30, of Annapolis in the 1200 block of Forest Dr. She was identified as the suspect in the attempted theft from vehicle and arrested. Allen was charged with rogue and vagabond. She was released by the District Court Commissioner.

Burglary - 201700001613 - Unit block of Winslow Ct - 04/22 at 11pm to 04/23 at 8:30am: A phone was stolen from an apparently unlocked home.

National Drug Take Back Event

On Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Annapolis Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 13th opportunity in seven years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the Annapolis Police Department at 199 Taylor Avenue. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about the April 29 Take Back Day event, go to the DEA Diversion website. The Annapolis Police Department also has a permanently installed medication disposal box in our lobby. This disposal box is open normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding holidays.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you text, phone in, or submit your Annapolis crime tip online Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Please be assured that only your tip is communicated from Metro Crime Stoppers to the police department, not any identifying information about you. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
