In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 88 calls for service and arrested 10 people.
Robbery – 201700000779 – 600 block of Severn Island Ct – 02/22 at 6:20pm: Officers responded to the unit block of Lincoln Ct for a report of an assault that occurred earlier on Severn Island Ct. The adult male victim reported that two suspects known to him assaulted him and stole money. The victim suffered injuries to his head, face, and leg. The victim identified one of the suspects as Gary Watts, 52, of Annapolis. Officers located Watts and arrested him. Watts was charged with robbery and second degree assault and is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond. The investigation into the identity of the second suspect is continuing. The victim was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center and released.
Attempted Thefts from Vehicles – 201700000783 – Chinquapin Round Rd and Virginia St – 02/23 at 3:40am: An observant caller reported seeing two male suspects checking vehicle door handles. Officers responded and another caller reported that they saw two people running across Chinquapin Round Rd towards Hicks Av. Officers saw the possible suspects on Hicks Av, but they ran when they saw officers. Multiple officers searched the area, but the suspects were not located. It is unknown if anything was stolen from the vehicles at this time.
